YEAR 6
SPRING TERM
Monday 26th February 2024
We have had a fantastic start to the second half of Spring Term and have continued to see the children challenging themselves and making great progress across all of their subjects. In English and Maths, the children have completed some mock assessments to identify areas to further develop and at the same time we have celebrated their achievements and outstanding outcomes so far in the run up to statutory assessments in May. This term, we are developing our geographical knowledge and learning about different natural disasters (including earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions) and will be researching recent events around the world and looking to incorporate the use of ipads and VR headsets to enhance the experience.
In English, we are fully engaged in our text 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' by J.K. Rowling, using this well-known book to explore different characters and settings, use media and film to engage the children and present some lovely written outcomes.
In Maths, we will be continuing to apply the children's arithmetic knowledge to a range of reasoning scenarios and supporitng the children to use these independently across a range of lesson and in real-life scenarios. .
