Reporting and Assessment
Reporting and Assessment Schedule Overview
The reports provided to students and parents communicate academic progress, behaviours for learning, and areas for improvement. For Years 7–10 and Year 12, subject reports include predicted grades, progress indicators, and grades for behaviour, organisation, homework, and effort. Year 11 and Year 13 receive similar subject reports, with the addition of mock exam grades in the Autumn report and tutor comments in the Spring report. By the Summer term, all students in Years 7–10 will receive both subject reports and tutor comments, ensuring a comprehensive overview of their academic journey and the support in place to help them succeed.
All reports also include target grades. These are generated using students’ prior attainment data. For example, students in Years 7–11 have target grades based on their KS2 outcomes, while those in Years 12–13 have targets derived from their KS4 GCSE results. These target grades are produced using large national datasets that correlate students with similar starting points to their eventual outcomes, enabling schools to set realistic yet aspirational expectations for progress.
All reports are published electronically via MyChildAtSchool, allowing for easy access and timely updates on student progress.
