Hertfordshire Apple Regional Training Centre

As the regional training centre, we have a wide range of development opportunities available to staff in order to develop skills and confidence in their use of Apple technology and to augment learning across the phases and curriculum through the use of new technology.

This training not only supports members of staff in our establishment but across the wider educational community.  As active members of and contributors to the local Teaching Schools Alliance, we have supported training through workshops in other schools and are offering outreach support to primary schools in North Herts: in  terms of the use of iPads and in particular the Apple computing programmes such as Swift Playgrounds.

Sharing good practice within and across schools, both in our Trust and more widely, has always been a fundamental aspect of our vision for the development of T&L and being an RTC has helped us to further develop this.

Of course, most crucially, this is about the students. We are committed to providing an education that truly give them the skills to rely upon in life, with the technology that will accompany it and ultimately by providing top class training and development opportunities we can continue to do this across Hertfordshire. In school, our team of student iPad/Apple Champions work alongside staff to support the training of staff, students and even parents in engaging with this technology so this really is an all-encompassing school community vision.
