Information regarding Additional Languages at GCSE
Additional Languages at GCSE – if you speak another language at home, it may be possible to take a GCSE in that language as early as Year 8. This will give you an additional GCSE and recognition that you can offer another language. We do not teach these languages, but we can make it possible for you to take the GCSE and support you in finding a private tutor to help you to prepare for this exam, if required. Languages taken in the past include Italian, German, Portuguese, Chinese spoken Cantonese, Polish, Russian, Arabic and Gujarati. Other languages are available. An information evening is held in October on an annual basis to give more details and answer any questions that you may have. Please speak to someone in the MFL department for further information.
