Transition into Secondary

Welcome to Samuel Ryder Academy Secondary Phase

Samuel Ryder Academy holds a Secondary Transfer Open Evening for students transitioning from local primary schools to secondary school. We very much look forward to welcoming families to our Open Evening on Thursday, 25th September 2025 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm. Our high-performing school is underpinned by a relentless drive to provide an outstanding education for all of our students. We hope that you will join us to explore the incredible range of opportunities that Samuel Ryder Academy will offer your child in the years to come. This year there will be three Headteacher talks at 5:15pm, 6:15pm and 7:15pm, which must be booked in advance. Please book a digital ticket below for one of the talks.

Our aim is to make all of our new students feel welcome, safe and confident for their time at Samuel Ryder Academy, enjoying from the beginning what we hope will be some of the best years of their lives. As part of the induction process, a member of the Year 7 team will visit your child at their primary school in the summer term. This is a valuable opportunity for your child and the member of staff to familiarise themselves with each other, and for your child to ask any questions they may have about secondary school life.
