Sixth Form Admissions 2026

We are pleased to inform you that applications for our Samuel Ryder Academy Sixth Form are now open. The application window will close on Thursday, 11th January 2026.

As you support your child in considering their next steps, please take note of our three Sixth Form pathways and the entry requirements for each: 

Pathway 1: A-Level Programme (3 A-Levels) 

  • Minimum of 40 GCSE points from the highest eight GCSE subjects 
  • Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English and Mathematics 
  • A minimum of grade 6 in each subject a student wishes to study at A-Level 

Pathway 2: Blended Vocational (BTEC Business National Diploma and one A-level) 

  • Minimum of 34 GCSE points from the highest eight GCSE subjects 
  • Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English and Mathematics 
  • A minimum of grade 6 in each subject a student wishes to study at A- Level 

Pathway 3: Vocational  (BTEC Creative Media Production) 

  • Minimum of 34 GCSE points from the highest eight GCSE subjects 
  • Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English and Mathematics 

In addition to our main pathways, we also offer: 

  • Level 3 Core Maths 
  • A- Level Further Maths 
  • Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
