Sixth Form News - Friday Lecture ThemePosted on 29/11/2019
Last week, the A-Level media students had the opportunity to see the CEO of the UK branch of Lionsgate lecture at St Albans High School. The name of the lecture was Film: From Script to Screen.
The latter proved to be a truly insightful and interesting experience. We were given an in-depth view of the production process and subsequently gained a better understanding of what it takes to adapt an idea, a book or even a true story into a script that will eventually become the core of four-month shoots and countless editing hours. This information was anchored when we were shown multiple versions of the “Fighting With My Family” trailer. As media students, we knew that most-if not all- media products are created with a target audience in mind, so it was especially interesting to see the changes a trailer can go through in order to better adhere to the requirements of a particular audience.
One student that found that the lecture was “very interesting” and the subsequent questions asked were “very helpful and thought-provoking”.
