Behind the Mask Project with Trestle Theatre

Posted on 14/05/2021

Samuel Ryder Academy is thrilled to be involved with a very special project celebrating 40 years of the Trestle Theatre - a mask and physical theatre company working internationally and based in St Albans.

As part of the 'Behind the Mask' exhibition, Trestle is running projects in three different schools. We feel extremely lucky to be picked as one of those schools and SRA students from Years 7, 8 and 9 will be working with Trestle's world renowned masks to create a performance that will be professionally filmed and shared as part of a one off YouTube premier.

Students will be crafting their performances every Thursday lunchtime and after school with our fabulous Drama department and the Trestle team as well as attending a virtual Q&A session with their fellow performers from other schools to meet and share their experiences.

We can't wait to share more on this very exciting project over the coming weeks. To find out more about the Behind the Mask celebration and Trestle Theatre, please visit:

Trestle Theatre

We would like to thank Trestle Theatre for this amazing opportunity.  Words cannot express how excited we are to be collaborating with such a prestigious theatre group right in the heart of our community - we're just going to have to show you with our final performance!
